We all know, that during the years of development of the great game S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: The shadow of Chernobyl “lost” piece of content: cut out many locations, mutants, weapons, NPCs and even changed the plot.
The strangest seems to be the removal of these ready-made quests - in the early builds of the game they fully worked, but by the time the authors abandoned them for some reason. But some turned out no worse than those, that were included in the final version and because of them even had to abandon in-game items!
5 cut quests
Below I will describe in detail 5 cut quests from the game, which you most likely did not know about. Let's start!
1. Kill the mercenary
In build 1844 Army warehouses have not yet belonged to stalkers from "Freedom". Mercenaries live there instead, who are ready to kill for an artifact. When Bullseye first goes to warehouses, he sees a grim picture - dozens of killed, as mutants, and stalkers, but one still managed to survive.
We find the unnamed character by a severe cough. Before dying, he asks to find a mercenary named Dog and take the "crystal" artifact from him - this was the last task of the dying stalker. The dog is nearby, under the bridge. He's not even hostile, if you don't get too close, but even so it warns, before opening fire.
The task is fully working - its completion is counted when the artifact is sold. And if you do so, as the dying stalker wanted, then you get from Sidorovich 2 thousand rubles, but any other merchant will pay for the "crystal" 5 thousand.

2. Sniper hunting
In version 2205 there was a buggy quest to kill a sniper. It is given by the "long-term" Bromine in the bar "100 roentgen". He himself cannot get to the ill-fated sniper in any way, shooting people at night, but he believes in the Tagged One, but if you don't know about the problem with the script, then you will not be able to complete the quest.
The bottom line is, that it is necessary to take the task during the day - only then the sniper will appear at night. It is worth talking to Brom at night and you can forget about the execution - the sniper does not appear, no matter how much the player waits.
Otherwise, the task is not difficult - at night you need to climb the water tower next to the bar and kill the sniper, then give it to PDA Brom. Anomaly detector DA-2 was given as a reward. For some reason, they decided to cut it out along with the quest., and the analogue will appear only in "Call of Pripyat".

3. Destroy the leader of the Monolith
Pre-release assembly 2588 there was a faction mission "Duty". General Voronin sends Tagged on a mission to assassinate the alleged leader of the Monolith. This is a stealth task - you need to shoot at a great distance from a sniper rifle and in no case get caught by the "monoliths" until the moment of the shot.
Surprisingly, the goal of the mission is some unnamed member of the "Monolith", and not Haron, became the leader in the release version. But when you destroy the target and return to Voronin, he will say, that the killed person was not a real leader - the right person is hiding somewhere in Pripyat. Just find out, who are we talking about, will not work - this is where the quest ends, and he has no continuation.

4. Quests to destroy "Debt"
In the release version of "Shadows of Chernobyl" you can take part in a skirmish between the army faction "Duty" and the anarchists from "Svoboda". The latter had a chain of quests to kill enemies, which was combined into one task - to kill one of the commanders of the "Duty".
Initially, these are four tasks: kill the chief of security "Duty", kill captain Ivantsov, kill Colonel Petrenko and kill a stalker nicknamed Barin. All targets were on the territory of the "100 roentgen" bar, but the tasks to eliminate them were issued one by one, so I had to run back and forth from Lukash, the head of "Svoboda", to the bar.
In fact, players did even better - except for extra money for each kill, we didn’t get anything new, just running around. In the final version, there is one drawback - the goal is a casual "long-term", sitting in a bar. In this case, it is impossible to kill only the target - all visitors, including stalkers, become enemies., because the player violates the neutrality of the territory.

5. Bring Sakharov Brains
In build 2588 the completely finished quest "Kill the stalker Zoba" has been preserved. Among other tasks, where you need to kill a specific NPC, it stands out for its unusual cruelty - you need not just kill Zoba, but also bring the scientist Sakharov a brain.
Moreover, Sakharov blatantly lies to the Marked One about the goal - says, that Goiter went crazy and destroyed the fruits of many months of experiments, after which he moved to the Cordon, now his colleagues want to study the inflamed brain. But when the player gets to the goal, The goiter behaves appropriately, does not attack first.
Otherwise, the quest is completely ready., there is even a fork here. If you still kill Goiter and bring the brain, then Sakharov gives for doing 4 thousand rubles, and reputation among factions decreases. And if you decide to spare the character, then he will continue to travel through the Zone, but there will be no reward.
