Spellbreak: Updated Guide to the Ice Gauntlet

Pumping out 20 the level of this glove and having played a considerable number of fights, I would like to share my thoughts. I hope some tips can help you master this glove., because. in my opinion along with the Gauntlet of the Wind – this is the most difficult for a beginner.

1. General information and changes in 3 chapter
The third chapter brought a lot of changes to the mechanics of the game., that's why the gameplay for each of the gloves has undergone big changes. Very happy that, that the developers have finally tackled the balance of software “serious” and from “spam shooter” this game is gradually turning into a game with an endless skill cap and a lot of fun.

This section will refer to the patch note, which you can find by link.[go.playspellbreak.com].

The most important, what you need to know about this patch:

  • It hurts to fly (costly) by mane
  • Dodge mechanic added to the game. That is now “rune half-dash” accessible to everyone and it became more difficult to shoot.
  • Another important change was the addition of a new view “cameras” and increasing the viewing angle – it's there on hand, aiming has become easier.
  • Of very pleasant changes – the flight speed of our projectile has been significantly increased, and now instead of 20k it has become 26k. What does this mean to us? You need to aim closer to the target model, and not somewhere in the sky.

In general, our glove has undergone the most minor change along with the extremely strong nerf of the glove of stone and lightning, which is good news.

2. Talents
In this section, I propose to consider two options for the ice glove build.:

  • Solo play
  • Squad support
Solo

Here, for me, the most decisive factor in the choice of talents was the mobility of our magician.

For myself, I settled on the option:

  • Wisdom – this talent will allow our runes to recover much faster, what will affect our mobility, survival and effectiveness. -25% recharge runes – that's a lot, so my choice fell here.
  • Athlete – running speed and character levels. Again, the speed of movement along the path we have frozen, at least with purple boots and this talent in 3 will not allow us to catch up even on a flight. Very tasty.
  • Thirst – in the first couples, until we understand, how to position yourself in a fight – this talent will really save our lives. Undisputedly the best talent for solo play beyond the Ice Gauntlet, but also on many others.

In general, these talents are best suited for the hit and run mechanic, making you almost elusive in the early stages of the game..
Other “icy” magicians most likely will not catch up with you, your speed will make it harder to hit you, and fiery and poisonous gloves will most likely abandon your pursuit when they see, how lightning fast you break the distance.

Team

Now about “team play”:
Most often, a team in such games expects a movement buff from you, as well as timely signaling about other squads or single players.

The first level of your glove will help with movement, and the second with the search for targets for a fight or avoidance, if your squad is now without resources.

Having tried a lot of talent setups for myself, I settled on:

  • Runic Mastery – allows you to have 2 runes at your disposal, which positively affects your mobility, and also allows “reset” almost any fight, well, or catch up with any target.
  • Inspiration – chic synergy with the previous talent, almost always gives you +20% damage done, if you are fighting a measured battle.

Everything is very simple here. You are looking for goals, signal them to your team, and then you try to knock out the armor and hp from the targets as much as possible before, while your main forces rush towards them at full steam under acceleration from your icy tracks.

3. Synergy with other gloves
I've been experimenting with a second glove for quite some time., ran with everyone and made a decision, what a glove of poison – the best option for, to force any enemy, who came close to you to understand, that at close range it is not so easy to kill you.

I will not talk about synergies with other gloves and you may not agree with me, but:

  • Poison Glove Magic – it is the perfect breaker of distance to your target. Never try to damage her. Always use this cooldown, as protection. He will save your life repeatedly.
  • Poison Glove Basic Attack – it is really explosive damage at short distances (and everyone just wants to close the distance with you). You have no idea how many times people, those playing on stone and fire gloves began to run away, receiving two 35-40 units of damage from a seemingly player, which should “to suffer” from them in close combat.

Same, if someone follows you on your trail, just throw poison on your ice and the person will either waste mana, to jump over it, or slow down by that much, which will immediately get a headshot from your main hand.

4. Runes
This is perhaps the most difficult question, and when describing each rune, I will refer to two features of the gameplay described by me above.. Yet again, Your opinion may not be the same as mine, but this is the way 🙂

So, let's start:

  • Spring – good option for starting the game, for close range fights, if the enemy forced you to get close. Better to replace with something useful in the middle of the game.
  • Dash – with the introduction of the dash mechanic, this rune has become one of the most popular in 1x1 duels at short distances. Combined with new mechanics, your enemy will be dizzy before, than he will understand in which corner of the screen you are.
  • Stealth – not such a bad option to start the game, but it's better to replace, if you find something more useful.
  • Shadow step – as well as the jerk – one of the best runes for 1x1 at short distances.
  • Feather – he was nerfed, it got slower, you started to take off 20% less, but this is still the top 2 rune to play as a support mage in squads. There is simply no better rune for analyzing the situation around.. Climbed up, checked who is around – fell down. Also one of the most enjoyable runes for late game and final zone, where on earth there is simply nothing to do.
  • Flight – best rune to play for support. Allows you to almost instantly break the distance or catch up with gaping enemies.
  • Teleportation – rather mediocre rune due to its uselessness in the late game. It is recommended to change to a flight or spring in a squad game or a dash in a solo game.
  • Time distortion – no matter how many times I try to use this rune – I came across opponents, who always killed me after leaving her. Maybe something is wrong with me, but in the vastness of this game I saw very few users of this rune.
  • Wolf blood – what can I say. With your second level, this rune becomes extremely useless for you.. Any of the options described above – more useful, do not waste time on this rune.

From the above, I chose the runes of the dash or shadow step for myself., when I play solo, and when in a team – flight and feather.
Choose for you, but if you learn to use each of these runes well – you will get excellent mobility or survivability. You decide.

5. AIM, workout, tips and tricks
This is probably the most popular section for a beginner who wants to learn how to play this glove..

AIM

I will try to describe here those ways, who helped me at least slightly improve my AIM, and also not to feel useless on every map., that AIM is not the most important thing, although the main. You must be able to position yourself beautifully..
Do not judge strictly. So, let's get started:

The most important – this is your workout. Without them, nowhere. I spent two weeks in a row 1-3 hours a day just by being on the training map and doing “invented by me” or “spied” in the guides of foreign streamers of practice.

First, adjust the sensitivity of the mouse. Without her, nowhere. Find two windows in any of the buildings on the training ground. Try it “flick” from one to another. If you flew – reduce sensitivity, if not brought – increase. New sensitivity will take some getting used to, but it will take no more 15 minutes in combination with the following exercises.

The first, what I decided to train for myself – this is the glove's accuracy for standing targets. I think, what is most important – is learning to feel your shells. You have to shoot, shoot and shoot every time “memorizing” how and where your projectile flies. Find a point for yourself on the map, preferably at a good height and try to hit all “bots”, who stand at different distances. Do it in turn.. Over time, you will notice, what have you hit more often?. The signal for the next step will be that, that you will hit any of the enemies the first time at any point on the map, whom you see.

The main place for me was the tower right next to the training ground. Here you are, least 4 goals, and the fifth – secret, which you will not immediately notice.

Remember, everything, what are you doing – this trains your muscle memory and allows you to quickly aim at any of the opponents. Try doing here 360. This will greatly help you hover your cursor over any of the targets faster..

Second: will learn “flick” fast and beautiful. Your flicks shouldn't look like jerky mouse jerks. They must become more and more accurate.. Here the fiery glove will help you and this is the place on the map:

Try to shoot fireballs at the left and right doors one at a time. If you decide, what have already learned – add another flick to the window at the top – and the difficulty mode will increase 🙂

Have learned? Excellent – go to the next step: battles with bots.
We take all the gold things and try to defeat any bot. As for me the most disgusting – stone and fire, but it's up to you.
They killed the bot without ever missing? Fix the result. Try to do this 3 times in a row. Happened? We take purple things and repeat the same. It worked again? Take blue things and repeat.

After that, how can you kill a bot with white armor, amulet and weapon nirazu without missing – I assure you, that you will play at a sufficiently High level, or so.

After that, how you can easily complete All three challenges – take a poisonous glove in your second hand and try to combine melee and ranged attacks. Now the task is to kill the bot without ever missing and alternating attacks of two gloves.

I don't know anymore, what to advise in training AIM, but that, what is described here – very difficult for a new player.
Dont be upset, skills come with time. This is your work, which will then be rewarded with very beautiful kills in flight or at a very long distance.

Moving around the map

There is a very interesting trick, which is applicable not only to the ice glove, but also to the rest, who use “icy steps”.
It's about the mechanics of the game, and if I use terms correctly it is called conservation of moment of inertia, that is, your speed during a fall from any hill is maintained during flight, and this flight time can be extended.
Its essence is to cancel the casting of your magic.. That is, at the moment, when you jump up in front of an obstacle or abyss, you need to clamp your magic (further “Q”) and then press RMB or LMB without releasing Q, release RMB or LMB and then lower Q

What does it give us. At the moment the helmet Q, if you noticed, then you hang in the air, but here you will fly at a constant speed through the air without falling for another second. This can be repeated up to three times.. This will allow you to dodge a very large number of ground projectiles., such as the Sculptor's Rift.
Practice, this will allow you to move around the map even faster.

Combat tips

The most interesting tactic for me in 1x1 is to start the fight myself. Shooting a beautiful projectile at the enemy, and then trying to get as close to him as possible, without letting him think, take a break and replenish resources.

Everytime, when you hit the player, You must understand, what if you get hit – you already have an advantage, so what do you need “push”. Give him two or three hits with the poison glove close up and watch, how he starts to run away frantically forgetting about, what else is needed and will shy away. And there is a matter of technology – one shot and he's dead.

In the squad-by-squad game, opponents will try to push you, because you are the biggest source of damage. Be prepared for this and take them close with poison strikes., in order not to give them a chance to come to their senses and start thinking why they even climbed to you.
Explosive Damage – your everything, it is an excellent tool for moral pressure on the enemy. The more mistakes he makes – the easier it is for you and your allies.

The most important thing for me – learn to change the glove depending on the situation. I've lost 1x1 so many times, when trying to kill an enemy close by with an ice glove, that it served as a good experience to quickly change to poison, especially, that he was now well so up-ned.

6. Conclusion
Everything, what was described above – this is just my point of view and my conclusions after a long and persistent play on this glove.

She is the hardest, but at the same time the best in terms of the amount of pleasure received from the game.
At the beginning, when you first come to the training room and the first cards – You will want to throw this glove, forget and close this guide, but when you first see, how the enemy crumbles somewhere in the air trying to escape from you – you will understand my feelings. It's just unforgettable to watch that every time, how loot falls to the ground or a person, gape just gets 100+ headshot damage and starts to panic.

Overall, this glove gave me a lot “ass pain” and pleasure, never ceasing to delight from card to card.

I hope my advice will help you quickly get used to this glove..
